Factors For Weight Loss Besides Diet

Diet is the highest factor in weight loss. However, diet alone will not produce accelerated or lasting results. So what other factors are needed for successful weight loss. And by successful, I mean both, reducing pounds and inches and also keeping it off. Neither the HCG diet nor any other diet alone will produce successful weight loss. So we have to start at the beginning before one got fat. How did you get fat? The answer is slightly the same but vastly different for everybody as we’ve all had our own unique experiences in life.

Emotions
So during our past, something emotionally happened which triggers a positive emotional memory. Like our birthday party as a child when we feel special and loved and everyone had a happy experience eating cake and ice cream. So when we want to get our sugar fix and momentarily transport our mind to a happy time, we eat cake and ice cream. Perhaps it might be a time like Thanksgiving where our family gets together and feast on roasted turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy etc. These foods are associated in our minds as “comfort foods”. When we experience some sort emotional trauma in our lives, our tendency is to reach for comfort foods to balance that trauma with positive memories and emotions of the past. Unfortunately, all the comfort foods I just mentioned are unhealthy and will produce fat gain. But we love these comfort foods because these foods are etched into our memory as a time when we were loved. And love = safety to us. We feel safe when we are loved. We also have to start loving ourselves. We are what we eat and think. Self-loathing sabotages long term weight loss. The benefits of loving ourselves are; it improves our hearing, our eyesight, lowers our blood pressure, increases our pulmonary function and cardiac output. Learn to love yourself.

Visualization
Seeing is believing as the cliché goes. It’s true when it comes to weight loss. I remember when I started to work at a clinic offering HCG injections for weight loss. Sleep and Exercise
Stress generates cortisol in one’s body and cortisol is a hormone that will produce fat gain. Sleep metabolizes cortisol but a lack of sleep will cause fat gain as cortisol remains in the body. Normal weight people usually have normal sleep patterns but many obese patients suffer from sleep apnea. Get enough sleep during your diet and exercise. Exercise is a natural anti-depressant and releases positive bio-chemistry in our bodies. And what also reduces stress hormones is laughter. Exercise also speeds up our metabolic process in our bodies. Therefore, proper sleep and exercise will help with your weight loss goals.
